I think he said that because he was happy that he is still alive and not buried in the in the tunnel.
ReplyDeletehe said this because he knew he was lucky to be getting out of the mountain safe and he had been in the dark for a while and he felt hopeless but when he saw the light he was happy because he had hope to make it out.

ReplyDeleteI think he felt that way because of the explosion and all the commotion that he could start to believe that he was starting to die and he thought he was going to heaven
